A highway maintenance buyer asked a very practical question: “Will the line still reflect after months of traffic?” For that job, surface beads alone were not enough in our opinion. We discussed a formula with premixed glass beads because internal beads can keep supporting retroreflectivity as the marking surface wears. It was not the cheapest formula, but it matched the job better.

For our order, the paint price looked competitive, but the real comparison started after we checked the port route and inland delivery. Manzanillo made sense for our warehouse plan, but local trucking and unloading still changed the final number. I would not compare suppliers only by FOB price for Mexico. The delivered cost tells a more honest story.

Our first quotation sheet for Mexico used a conservative loading number because we did not want to promise the wrong freight cost. Tianhua helped check the bag stacking method, whether pallets were needed, and the forwarder’s loading comments. After that, the container plan was improved and the loading reached 27 tons instead of the lower figure we first used. That gave us a better freight-per-ton calculation before quoting contractors.

The yellow paint was used in an industrial yard where trucks turned repeatedly near the loading area. The first thing we learned was that appearance on day one is not enough. We increased the application thickness and paid more attention to glass bead spreading. The marking looked stronger after that, especially on turning zones.

I am looking for cooperation with road marking contractors working on highways, industrial parks, logistics centers, parking areas, and old road repainting projects in Mexico. My experience is mainly hands-on: push machine operation, hand marking around arrows and crossings, equipment setup, calibration, basic machine checks, and controlling line width and glass bead spreading during thermoplastic application. I am especially interested in crews that care about primer, clean line edges, and stable night reflectivity, not only fast daily output.

The road was not new asphalt. It had old faded markings, dust, and some smooth areas where traffic had polished the surface. We first cleaned the pavement and brushed primer before applying Tianhua Traffic thermoplastic paint. The new white line bonded better at the edges, and the result looked more stable than the sections where we had tried direct application before.

For a shopping plaza parking area, the owner mainly wanted clean white parking lines and yellow arrows with good initial reflection. We used paint without internal glass beads and applied drop-on beads during construction. It gave enough brightness for the early inspection and kept the budget reasonable. I would choose a different formula for a public road, but for this site it made sense.

One road contractor did not want to hear only “good price.” He asked for a sample first and checked the melting behavior, color, drying speed, and bead spreading on a small test line. That was a good decision. The sample helped us avoid arguing about specifications later, especially for a project where AASHTO or BS3262-type requirements might be involved.
