The material was ready, the machine was ready, but the pavement was not. In Paramaribo, a short rain can leave moisture in the surface even when the road looks dry from a distance. We delayed the work twice, and it was the right decision. The section we marked after waiting had a much cleaner finish than the small test area we tried too early.

The road section was already marked before, so we did not treat it like new asphalt. There was old thermoplastic residue, fine dust, and some smooth areas where tires had polished the surface. We cleaned it first and brushed primer before applying Tianhua Traffic white thermoplastic paint. The difference was obvious at the line edges. On this kind of re-marking work, primer saved us from a weak bond.
