The project was a repainting job, not a new road. The old asphalt had faded lines and some dusty areas, so the contractor cleaned the surface and brushed primer before applying Tianhua thermoplastic paint. That primer step helped the new white line bond better to the old pavement. For Mongolia maintenance work, I would not apply hot-melt paint directly on aged road surfaces.

At first we only compared the paint price per ton. Later we realized the real cost depended on the transport route: Tianjin, Erenhot, Zamiin-Uud, then delivery to Ulaanbaatar. The product quotation was clear, but the landed cost only made sense after adding rail, customs, truck delivery, and warehouse handling.

The yellow marking was used on a mining access road for truck guidance and warning lines. Heavy vehicles passed over the markings every day, so line thickness and wear resistance mattered more than appearance alone. The Tianhua Traffic material looked suitable after the trial, especially with proper bead application.

The material worked well, but the job schedule had to be planned carefully. Mongolia’s marking season is much shorter than in warm countries. We avoided cold mornings and waited for the pavement temperature to be suitable. When the road was dry and warm enough, the line formed much better.

The 25kg bags were easier to move between warehouse and jobsite, especially when the order had to be divided for several road sections. We kept the material dry and avoided rough handling during transport. For Mongolia, packaging has to survive sea freight, border transfer, rail transport, and cold-season storage.

For a national road section, the owner wanted more than good first-day reflection. We selected a formula with premixed glass beads because traffic wear and winter abrasion can reduce the surface beads over time. Drop-on beads gave strong initial reflectivity, but internal beads were more useful for visibility after several months.

Some buyers ask for the cheapest hot-melt paint, but Mongolia road conditions are different. For temporary or parking projects, drop-on glass beads may be enough. For national roads, mining roads, or areas with winter abrasion, a higher internal bead content is a better long-term choice.

For a private parking area, we did not need a high premixed bead formula. The buyer mainly wanted clear white and yellow lines for early inspection. A 0% internal glass bead formula with surface-applied beads was enough, and it helped control the material cost.

The sample helped us check melting behavior, color, and line finish before discussing a full container. For Mongolia projects, we also wanted to know whether the formula could be adjusted for colder climate and road surface conditions. Tianhua Group’s technical explanation was more useful than a simple price list.
